FAI, NZ Finance Investments Holdings Ltd and PH Ltd amalgamated in March and became FAI Money Ltd. There was no longer a practical need to maintain the Crown guarantee because all of FAI Money Ltd's depositors had been repaid and it no longer had any depositors eligible to benefit from the guarantee.
