Five new promotions at Chapman Tripp

Chapman Tripp is pleased to announce five new senior associates across our Wellington and Auckland office, effective from June 1.

Chief executive partner Nick Wells said the promotions recognise leadership, talent and dedication.

Wellington

Kate Yesberg, corporate & commercial

Ms Yesberg specialises in international, regulatory and public law. She advises public and private sector clients on a range of matters, with a focus on regulatory design and governance issues.  Ms Yesberg has advised on policy and law reform in a number of Pacific Island countries. She also provides advice on public and private international law, including on contentious matters.

Julian Brown, litigation & dispute resolution

Mr Brown specialises in commercial dispute resolution, advising corporate and private clients in a wide range of sectors.  He advises clients on corporate and regulatory matters as well as general contract, tort and equity-based issues. He also has experience in contentious public law and tax disputes.

Aradhna Lal-Grech, property, infrastructure & construction

Ms Lal-Grech specialises in construction, infrastructure and property law. She has broad experience advising public and private clients on various contractual arrangements in the construction context, property acquisitions and disposals, leasing, licensing, and a range of general construction and property law issues.

Jeremy Upson, litigation & dispute resolution

Mr Upson is a litigator with wide-ranging experience in commercial and public law disputes. He has appeared at all levels of the New Zealand court system, and has advised clients involved with inquiries, tribunals, mediations and negotiations. He has particular skills and experience advising on confidential information, the Official Information and Privacy Acts, insolvency matters, and insurance litigation arising out of the Canterbury earthquakes. Mr Upson also advises clients on contentious employment matters.

Auckland

Janko Marcetic, litigation & dispute resolution

Mr Marcetic specialises in dispute resolution with a particular focus on restructuring and insolvency. He advises clients in a variety of commercial disputes, and has experience in advising insolvency practitioners on complex issues including claims against directors and third parties. Mr Marcetic has also acted for directors of companies facing claims by insolvency practitioners and regulatory charges.
