A rare opportunity to secure one of the only vacant sections in the heart of Taupo’s CBD has become available with Taupō District Council’s decision to sell 29 Tuwharetoa Street. The site is currently used as a carpark.
The property is being marketed by Bayleys Taupo and will be auctioned on Friday, October 4, in Taupo.
The council’s commercial manager, "Flash" Sandham, says the property is in a prime location, just one block back from Lake Taupo and right in the heart of the CBD.
“The property is a north-facing 1102m2 freehold site in close proximity to some strong national brands including Farmers, Lone Star, Subway, KFC and the Coffee Club. It also sits among a number of recent commercial developments, making it an attractive and sought after part of the town.”
A pedestrian right of way is to run alongside the site to create the final link between the lakefront and Tuwharetoa Street with the rest of Taupo CBD.
“The easement presents a great opportunity to establish a multi-story building with an arcade at street level and business(es) above, all with the potential for views of Lake Taupo,” Mr Sandham says.
