Forsyth Barr today announced the appointment of Richard Bodman as an independent director to the group’s custodian company boards (Forsyth Barr Custodians Limited and Forsyth Barr Cash Management Nominees Limited).

Richard was most recently Managing Director & Head of Compliance at First NZ Capital where his roles in his seventeen years there included management oversight of the back office, finance, IT, operations and HR. He was also a director of FNZC entities including Harbour Asset Management. Previously Richard worked for Ord Minnett NZ having commenced his career with the Enforcement Division of the Securities & Futures Authority in London.

Richard is a member of the NZ Markets Disciplinary Tribunal.

Forsyth Barr Chairman Sir Eion Edgar said “we are delighted that someone of Richard's calibre and relevant experience has accepted the offer to join our custodian company boards as an independent director. Our custodian companies hold several billion dollars of our clients’ assets, legally separate from Forsyth Barr’s commercial activities. Combined with independent chairman, former Deloitte audit partner Pat Heslin, this appointment brings further expertise and assurance to this important component of our client offering and means our custodian boards have a majority of independent directors.”
