Large passenger plans don't usually fly in formation; they're too busy earning money for their airlines.
But on September 29, Airbus’ five A350 XWB test aircraft took to the skies for a milestone formation flight.
The European plane maker is in the midst of launching its A350 XWB, a next-generation hauler that will replace the A330 and A340 and compete with Boeing's 777 and 787 Dreamliner.
The official formation flight was to celebrate the XWB winning certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency.
And, of course, it also made a great photo opp:
