Financier GE Capital is expanding its financial services in New Zealand, adding its insurance premium funding business to the mix.
Pacific Premium Funding is one of the largest premium funders in Australia, providing short-term funding to help businesses pay premiums up front.
Managing director Stuart White said GE Capital was confident New Zealand was a good fit for the premium funding business, which will operate alongside its consumer finance arm GE Money.
“In entering the New Zealand market we aim to become the funder of choice and we look forward to building strong, long-term relationships with local intermediaries, as we did when we launched in Australia in 2001.”
GE Capital is a subsidiary of US giant General Electric and one of the largest financial lenders in Australia and New Zealand.
Its existing insurance premium funding businesses in New Zealand will now be rolled into the new Pacific operations.
