Good and bad news for the US economy

Unemployment is at seven-year low, but wage growth is sluggish and labour participation at its worst level in four decades.

The latest job figures from the US reveals 223,000 jobs were added last month, resulting in the lowest level of unemployment in seven years.  

But the labour force participation rate – which measures the number of people who are either employed or are actively looking for work – dropped to 62.6%,
