Speaking on TV3's The Nation, Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce said the $40 million the Government spent was money well spent as New Zealand got a lot of exposure from the Cup.
"It's actually turned out probably better than everybody expected in terms of the level of profile and everything else."
Mr Joyce said New Zealand could continue to build its hi-tech industry off the back of the America's Cup.
"Whether it's the winning yacht or the second yacht, whichever way round it's finished, there's a lot of New Zealand in both these yachts.
"It's [the hi-tech industry] actually a bigger export success story than our well-known wine industry success story."
But Mr Joyce isn't making any commitments just yet, saying the sponsors will want to go away and regroup first.
"We can [put money up] provided you know there's something that stacks up.
"You don't just write a blank cheque."
