Voters in Greece have decided to stick with the left-wing led government they installed last January.
Alexis Tsipras’ Syriza party is likely to form a coalition government with small right-wing party Independent Greeks after winning Sunday’s elections.
Based on an official projection from the Greek Interior Ministry, Syriza is set to win 35.5% of the vote, giving the party 145 seats in the country’s 300-seat legislature. The projection also puts the Independent Greeks with 3.7% of the vote and 10 seats.
The two parties had formed the country’s coalition government before Mr Tsipras called the country’s second general election this year.
The new government’s policies will be heavily constrained by Greece’s latest international bailout plan, which both major parties promise to uphold.
It will be required to govern more like a mainstream governing party and less of an anti-establishment insurrection.
