Deputy banking ombudsman Susan Taylor has been appointed chief executive of Financial Services Complaints Ltd (FSCL).
Funded by financial service providers, FSCL was established to provide independent dispute resolution to all financial service providers and consumers of their products and services.
Free to consumers, FSCL was set up to deal with disputes arising out of financial products and services.
FSCL said it would be operated by financial dispute resolution specialists and was therefore not connected with finance industry groups or consumers.
Chairman Kenneth Johnston said Ms Taylor, who was a lawyer, had a wealth of experience in establishing a disputes resolution scheme, of alternative dispute resolution in general and of all forms of banking and finance complaints, and particularly those involving lending and credit, financial advice, and other financial services.
