Ikon drops senior managers in restructure

STW-owned media agency Ikon Communications has dropped its two managing partners in Auckland and Wellington.
Auckland managing partner Tom Davidson and Wellington managing partner Lee Parkinson have both been made redundant.
In a release the agency said the changes were immediate.
Current Ikon general manager Emma Bolser will take responsibility for Auckland and Gerard Duignan will the take same role in Wellington.
Ms Bolser declined to comment further on the changes, saying it was simply a matter of no longer requiring the managing partner roles.
Both will report directly to James Greet, Ikon chief executive Australia and New Zealand.
According to Australian industry website Mumbrella, former Mindshare boss Mr Greet took on the role in July after the shock departure of Ikon chief executive Dan Johns.
Mr Johns had worked for the agency for 10 years.
His departure was followed by that of the company’s national digital director Ellie Rogers and people and culture director Leonie Kerley the next day.
Ikon has five in its Wellington branch and 18 in Auckland. It recently won telco 2degrees, and the Ministry of Justice as clients.
