The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent the last day of their NZ visit in Wellington.
Prince William and Kate visited the Royal New Zealand Police College in Porirua, where they attended a wreath laying ceremony at the Memorial Wall, to honour police officers killed by criminal acts while performing their duties, and met new recruits.
They also saw a training display in the gymnasium and inspected a dog squad.
A local news site described the weather as a "stinker". During the Police College visit there was thunder and lightning, followed by a downpour.
The royal couple then headed back to the city to sign Wellington’s official visitors’ book and meet the public in Civic Square.
The royal motorcade traveled around the bays to the airport, where this afternoon they boarded the Air Force’s VIP Boeing 757 for flight across the Tasman.
