Indonesian telco stake in 2degrees — it's off

Reuters has shot down its own spec story that Indonesia's biggest telco will take a 27% stake in 2degrees.
When the intial story emerged in August last year, analysts spoken to by NBR ONLINE were dubious it was a serious possibility (2degrees wouldn't comment).
Either way, it's now off the table, Reuters says.
The news agency reports that PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia still has $NZ1.28 billion to invest, but none of that money is now earmarked for an investment in NZ. Instead, the Indonesian telco is looking at possible investments around Asia and the Middle East.
Do look for some action on the 2degrees front this year, however. Last year, CEO Stewart Sherriff pledge to enter the landline market within 12 months, and the clock is ticking.
