The Institute of Directors Vice President Liz Coutts has been appointed chairman of Ports of Auckland, effectively immediately.

Liz Coutts has been a director on the board of Ports of Auckland since December 2010.
Ms Coutts is a Chartered Fellow of the IoD, was appointed as a councillor in April 2013, Vice President in April 2015 and is also currently a director of EBOS Group Limited, Skellerup Holdings Limited and Sanford Limited, and is chairman of Urwin and Co Limited, Oceania Heathcare Limited. Among her other roles she is also a member of the Marsh Ltd Advisory Board.
Institute of Directors President Michael Stiassny congratulated Ms Coutts on the appointment.
“Liz is IoD’s first woman vice president and one of New Zealand’s most respected directors, bringing significant governance experience to her roles,” Mr Stiassny says.
“Ports of Auckland is New Zealand’s first container port as well as a vital tourism hub. Liz will add exceptional value and ensure the Port continues to play a key role in New Zealand’s infrastructure and build on this value in the coming years.”
