Just one work stoppage ended in the March quarter, the lowest quarterly figure for seven years, Statistics New Zealand says.
To protect confidentiality, details of the single stoppage were not released.
After an unusually high 17 stoppages in the December quarter, there were 30 stoppages in the year to March with an estimated $3.1 million loss in wages and salaries.
That compared to 22 stoppages in the year to March this year when the estimated loss was $2.4m.
