Four New Zealand companies have bagged top spots at a transtasman employer award ceremony, with Chorus taking home the gold medal.
Chorus is the first New Zealand company to be awarded first place in the Aon Hewitt best of the best employer awards, beating 14 other companies from New Zealand and Australia.
The best employer award includes an employee opinion survey, a people practice inventory and an organisational audit. Organisations have to meet the criteria for the three stages to be accredited for the year.
In total, almost 150 companies and more than 92,000 employees were involved in the process.
To be able to qualify for a top spot, a company has to consistently demonstrate excellence in employee engagement, leadership effectiveness and a high-performance culture.
As well as Chorus nabbing the top spot, other New Zealand-based companies also fared particularly well.
Z Energy, Frucor Beverages NZ, Microsoft NZ (which was a combined entry with Microsoft Australia) and FedEx Express NZ were all also recognised as some of the best companies to work for in 2015.
Aon Hewitt’s NZ Performance reward and talent lead Jocelyn Anso says the winning New Zealand companies were the companies of choice for talented professionals in New Zealand.
“To have five New Zealand companies achieve an Aon Hewitt best practice accreditation as a best employer is exceptional. To have Chorus win the best of the best title for the ANZ region is an absolute coup.”
