Laura Youdan

Laura is a Director in our Audit and Assurance team. She has worked with KPMG for over 10 years working in both our Auckland and London Offices. She has also spent time on the ‘other side of the fence’ with 3 years’ experience in senior finance roles in a large New Zealand listed. It’s this experience that drives Laura’s passion for an excellent client experience. Laura has worked with clients across a range of industries, but today specialises in utilities and manufacturing. She has experience across a range of service offerings including financial audit, financial review, regulatory assurance and other assurance. She also co-leads our Audit Data & Analytics (D&A) team nationally and enjoys working with her clients so they can enjoy the growing benefits of a data driven audit approach. On a personal level, Laura is married with two young children and loves nothing more than touring this beautiful country together or escaping to the Pacific Islands for family fun

Jane Mills

Jane is an Audit Director in KPMG Audit’s team based in Wellington. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in the UK, Jane was seconded to KPMG Wellington in 2001. She enjoyed the work and lifestyle in New Zealand so much, she has remained with KPMG Wellington ever since. She has over 20 years’ experience providing financial statement audits, internal control audits and other assurance related services across a range of industries in New Zealand and the UK. Jane currently provides audit and related services to a range of clients in the telecommunications, Government and not-for-profit sectors.

Cowan Pettigrew

Cowan is an experienced CIO/CTO with over 25 years in IT. He has been involved in the design and delivery of a variety of systems from SME to enterprise solutions across multiple platforms using a pragmatic and practical approach, and is focussed on ensuring deployed solutions are aligned with business goals and that the deployed solutions deliver real value and assist the business in moving with velocity. Cowan’s personal reward comes from seeing the right mix of people, process & technology solutions deployed that empower and transform a business’s ability to accelerate growth and operate more efficiently

Gareth Pindred

Delivery of large Operational Risk, Compliance and Forensic investigation engagements, with a particular specialism in financial crime programme review, design, implementation and remediation. Significant experience with UK and NZ banks for AML/CFT remediation and organisational change delivery. Strong technical and operational knowledge of AML/CFT requirements, industry practices and regulatory expectations.

David Shields

David is a Director in KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice, specialising in valuations, financial modelling and capital markets transactions. He has over 12 years corporate finance advisory experience in a wide range of industries including financial services, aged-care, education and property. David’s experience includes providing independent valuation opinions, NZX independent appraisal reports, initial public offering assistance, options valuations, purchase price allocation advice, intangible asset valuations and business valuations for transfer pricing purposes.

Andrew Simpson

Andrew leads the South Island Advisory team in Christchurch. He has more than 20 years’ experience in IT Auditing, IT Consulting, Internal Audit and risk management. Andrew is well known in the local market and also holds voluntary roles with the Board of Canterbury United FC and as the South Island Vice President for ISACA. He specialises in helping businesses with their strategic systems initiatives and has worked on many complex IT projects in the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He also advises businesses on their cyber security defences and controls. He has worked across multiple business sectors and works closely with business leaders to help fuel their success.
