KPMG New Zealand welcomes new Chief Executive

Godfrey Boyce has been appointed Chief Executive of KPMG New Zealand. From July 1, he will join KPMG Executive Chairman Ross Buckley in leading the firm.

Godfrey has been with KPMG for more than 30 years. For the past three years, he has led the firm’s growing Advisory practice – which has more than doubled in size during that time, and now has more than 240 specialists working with clients throughout New Zealand.

Godfrey says it is a particularly exciting time to be taking up the Chief Executive role.

“The sheer pace of change in the business landscape has never been greater than it is now. While businesses are grappling with new, different and more complex problems...they are also faced with the many new opportunities change brings.”  

He says KPMG has an ongoing strategy to provide clients with cross-disciplinary services – drawing on the skills and experience residing in each of its divisions, including Audit and Tax – to help them respond to any challenge or opportunity.

“Drawing on our depth of talent across the firm, and globally, we can respond to any need or issue that our clients may face. It’s about working shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients; to help them solve the hard problems and realise their growth ambitions.”

As part of the firm’s vision of Fuelling New Zealand’s Prosperity, KPMG’s growing Private Enterprise division is dedicated to supporting New Zealand’s small to medium business sector. This month, the firm launched an innovative new offering in small business accounting services.

Godfrey has 31 years of audit and advisory experience across a range of KPMG clients in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the UK. His areas of expertise include financial risk management, financial services consulting, external/internal audit and transaction services.

He is a Member of the Chartered Accountant Institute of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and a Senior Associate of Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).
