NZICA appeals council ups suspension for ‘Robin Hood’ accountant

Chartered accountant’s six month suspension upgraded to a year for falsifying GST liabilities.

A chartered accountant who made a false and misleading journal entry which wiped a $184,000 GST liability from a client’s balance sheet has had his penalty upgraded on appeal from six months’ to 12 months’ suspension.
