Leading law firm says five senior promotions reflect growth

Leading national law firm, MinterEllisonRuddWatts has promoted five lawyers into senior positions.

Leading national law firm, MinterEllisonRuddWatts has promoted five lawyers into senior positions.

The promotions reflect the firm’s growth and prominence in the New Zealand market, particularly in corporate, banking and finance, dispute resolutions and environment law practices.

The firm’s Chief Executive Mike Schubert says: "Achieving our vision of being the best firm to work with and in means having, and developing, the best people.

The firm’s three new senior associates are Charlotte Carey, Stephanie de Groot and Nick Frith.

Charlotte Carey (Banking and Financial Services, Wellington)
Charlotte joined MinterEllisonRuddWatts as a Senior Solicitor in 2014 from a boutique law firm. Since joining, Charlotte has become instrumental to the firm’s insolvency and recoveries practice. Charlotte has excellent "trusted advisor" relationships with a number of key clients, and has played key roles in winning new work.

Stephanie de Groot (Environment, Auckland)
Stephanie joined the firm’s Environment practice as a law clerk in 2010 after spending time at Auckland Regional Council in their coastal and air quality compliance teams. Since joining the firm, Stephanie has built a strong profile within the industry and maintains solid relationships with a range of clients. Stephanie specialises in all aspects of environment law.

Nick Frith (Dispute Resolution, Auckland)
Nick summer clerked with the firm before returning as a Dispute Resolution Law Clerk in 2010. Since then, Nick has formed strong relationships with clients and developed expertise in insurance and brokering law.

The firm is also proud to announce two new senior solicitors - Jeryl-lynn Govender (Corporate, Wellington) and Zoe Barnes (Corporate - Tax, Auckland).

The promotions took effect on 1 July 2017.
