This compares with 13.748 million tonnes at Port of Tauranga.
Northland Port Corp said it made a surplus $3.134 million in the year to June 30, up from $2.693 million last year.
The company is paying an unchanged final dividend of 3 cents a share on September 24.
The main increase in volume was in log exports. Indications are that the recent high levels of log exports will continue into the foreseeable future.
