Silver lining for the Greeks: The Greeks met the April 9th repayment deadline to the IMF.

“There was a bit of controversy surrounding this issue and if the Greeks will actually pay the IMF after a Greek minister told a German newspaper the Greeks might not be able to.”

More news from the FOMC: Minutes released this week show a “divided house” over the timing of US rate hikes.

“There has been a lot of commentary from economists about when rates would be lifted and June was thrown around a lot. But that’s not looking as promising now”

Close but no cigar for NZD/AUD parity: NZD was a whisker away from achieving parity with the Australian this week.

“A lot hinged on the RBA’s interest rates announcement this week; if rates did drop, the New Zealand dollar would have probably broken parity.”
