Consent has been issued and marketing is due to begin at new Invercargill subdivision Inverurie Estate.
Located at North Invercargill between Retreat Rd and Bainfield Rd, the setting for the subdivision owned by Barbara and Gus Johnstone is semi-rural.
The first stage of the 75-home development will have 32 sections but only 10 will be released to the market at first.
Sections are sized from 1392sq m to 5035m2 and the development will be landscaped by Queenstown-based Paddy Baxter of Baxter Design Group with ponds, woodlands, dry-stone walls and fencing of post and rail style.
“We have retained the rural amenities of the area and included extensive woodlands and road reserves of up to 50m,” Mr Baxter said.
“The through road moves naturally through the landscape. There are no urban trappings such as kerb and channeling and roadside boundary fences are post and wire so the overall effect is one of simple, understated rural elegance.
“The woodland areas offer public recreation and people will enjoy driving, cycling or walking through the area.”
