Merial Ancare is an animal health company which operates in over 150 countries worldwide. Its sales were more than $2.6 billion in 2010, media agency ZenithOptimedia said.
The win consolidated the Sanofi business, Merial Ancare’s parent company, for ZenithOptimedia, general manager New Zealand Ryf Quail said, taking ratecard billings to over $5 million per annum.
The scope of the work included pets and farm animals, which provided the agency with a good chance to innovate to provide commercial advantage in the New Zealand market, Mr Quail said.
The length of the partnership was based on the agency’s global contract with Sanofi, which was reviewed every three years, and there was no pitch.
“We were referred due to the good work we had done with the rest of the Sanofi business.”
The agency had already started work with Merial Ancare, it said.
ZenithOptimedia is part of Publicis Groupe.
