Metro Commercial has announced the leasing of a prime 98sq m store in central Queen Street, Auckland, to Australian retail chain Platypus Shoes for its inaugural New Zealand store.

In a deal negotiated by Nathan Male of Metro Commercial jointly with Simon Revell of Retail Solutions, Platypus is taking over the site formerly occupied by Lippy at 182 Queen St, located adjacent to Glassons flagship.

Mr Male says it has taken 18 months to find the right site for Platypus.

In a second deal, acting on behalf of Max Fashions, Metro also recently leased 152 Queen St to Singapore-based Novo Shoes for its New Zealand flagship store.

“Queen St is still enjoying good tenant demand, and these two recent additions will further add to the appeal of the central City’s retail precinct,” Mr Male says.
