The Commerce Commission has reached what it calls an important milestone in the setting of a new regulatory regime for airports.
The commission said today it had published its draft decisions and reasons on the input methodologies that would be applied to the information disclosure requirements for airports.
It had also released its draft information disclosure requirements and associated reasons.
The regulatory regime will apply to specified airport services supplied by the companies operating Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington International Airports.
Commission chairman Mark Berry said independent international specialists had been engaged to provide their views on what was a totally new regime.
The commission was working to a tight statutory timeframe to determine the regime, Dr Berry said.
Following a further round of submissions and cross-submissions, it would issue its final decisions on input methodologies by December 31, and information disclosure for airports by January 1.
