Former Telecom executive Brett Chenoweth has been appointed APN’s new chief executive.
APN publishes the New Zealand Herald daily newspaper and The Listener.
Mr Chenoweth will replace Brendan Hopkins who retires at the end of the year.
In an announcement to the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges, APN said Mr Chenoweth has had a distinguished, varied and successful career with a proven track record in media, communications and technology.
He has held senior strategy business development and operational roles at Telcom, ecorp, ninemsn and Village Roadshow Pictures.
Mr Chenoweth is also a director and founder of Australian IT services company Gizmo Corporation.
APN’s new boss will start the role flush with a base salary of $A1.5 million, plus bonuses.
