Smartfoods is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Fuge to the role of Supply Chain Manager at Smartfoods. Andy will bring to Smartfoods a wide variety of commercial, operational and supply chain experience that will support them through the growth plans across New Zealand, Australia and China.
Andy joins Smartfoods from Griffins Foods, where he has worked since 2009 in a variety of operations roles, most recently as Operations Director. The role and timing has given Andy unique exposure to business growth, multi-country focus and operational and supply chain excellence with a real focus on delivering improved bottom line results. The transition will be a smooth one given the similarity in the businesses across a number of factors such as raw ingredients, packaging, common customers and supply chain challenges. Andy will bring the sophistication and big business disciplines to the smaller scale at Smartfoods, allowing the cereal maker to accelerate growth efficiently.
Smartfoods has had a strong track record in recent years, and their Vogel’s brand is now the #1 in muesli in Countdown, the biggest retailer in the country.
‘In 2016 we have a real focus on consolidating our growth in New Zealand and Australia and accelerating China’, said Managing Director Justin Hall. ‘Andy’s contribution will enable our growth plans with more efficient procurement and logistics, reducing risk and ensuring we are operating as efficiently as possible. We are very excited to have a team member of his calibre join us, and he will raise the bar for the whole team’.
