New deputy chair appointed to Agents Disciplinary Tribunal

Auckland lawyer Kate Davenport has been appointed deputy chairwoman of the Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal, Associate Justice Minister Nathan Guy announced today.
Mr Guy said she would bring a wealth of legal and professional skills to the independent tribunal, which considers disciplinary charges against real estate agents.
"Her experience in mediation and professional conduct issues will be a real asset to the tribunal," he said.
Ms Davenport is a former vice president of the New Zealand Law Society and an experienced mediator who currently sits on the Registered Architects Board and the Weathertight Homes mediation panel.
Her expertise includes disputes resolution in land law, property disputes, trust law, wills and estate litigation and property relationship claims.
Ms Davenport replaces Justice Mary Peters, who was appointed to the High Court last year, on the tribunal.
She also chairs the National Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology and is deputy chairwoman of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal.
