Ian Fletcher has been appointed as the new director of the Government Communications Security Bureau.

Mr Fletcher has held senior executive positions in Australia and the United Kingdom since 1998, most recently as the director general and chief executive of the Queensland’s Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation.

He was also held positions as the chief executive of the UK’s Intellectual Property Office, managing director of Trade and Investment, principal private secretary to the cabinet secretary and head of the Home Civil Service.
