The fourth annual ANZ Newmarket Business Excellence Business Awards are on tonight, with upcoming business such as I Love Ugly, Best Ugly Bagels, Overland, Burger Burger and Mini Garage among the finalists.

This year’s judging panel included business leaders Anne Norman, Rob Fyfe, Tim Alpe, Andy Hamilton, Michael Barnett, Mark Hill-Rennie and Andrew Parsons (New Zealand’s only Professor of Retailing, from AUT).

Speaking on NBR Radio, Newmarket Business Association chief executive Mark Knoff-Thomas says this year’s awards have been more inclusive, with a greater number of categories to include all business sectors such as retail, hospitality and commercial.
