Australia joins NZ in global network tracking space debris

Kiwi Space Radar in Central Otago has new replica in Western Australia.

Space debris is a threat to low Earth orbitting satellites.

Silicon Valley space mapping startup LeoLabs has commissioned its second Southern Hemisphere radar site in Western Australia.

The first, Naseby-based Kiwi Space Radar in Central Otago, was commissioned in October 2019 and can track debris as small as two centimetres in low Earth orbit.
