Māori spirit bird replaces Middle-earth eagles at Wellington
The airport’s terminal has again chosen an artwork from Wētā Workshop.
Wellington Airport’s new artwork is inspired by the bird spirit Manu Muramura.
Wellington Airport has unveiled the replacement for its fierce-looking Middle-earth eagles that were removed as terminal showpieces back in May.
It’s an illuminated artwork sculpture representing the local bird spirit Manu Muramura. It is 15 metres long and is suspended above the main terminal
