RNZAF Poseidon to monitor skies off North Korea

Surveillance duties include sanctions-evading shipping activity and missile launches.

One of the air force’s new Boeing Poseidon P-8As is heading for Japan to support the surveillance of North Korean maritime activities that are prohibited by the UN’s Security Council.

Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the aircraft would be stationed at the Kadena Air Base in Okinawa
