A large rally in global equity markets helped boost the New Zealand Superannuation Fund's performance last month, reversing August's loss with a gain of $990 million.
The fund made a positive return of 6.11 percent in September after a negative return of 1.37 percent the previous month. It has made a 6.68 percent annualised return since inception in the 2003/04 year.
The fund had $17.21 billion as at August 31. The monthly return was after fees, but before tax.
As at September 30, the fund held 63.7 percent of its portfolio value in global equities, followed by 8.2 percent in infrastructure and 7.1 percent in timber assets.
