Dual-listed mining company OceanaGold (NZX:OGC) has been promoted to the NZX 50 Index following the June Quarterly Index Review.

It replaces APN News & Media (NZX:APN), which recently announced a loss for the six months to June 30 as a result of a writedown on the New Zealand Herald.

APN has been relegated after failing to meet the liquidity requirements to make the NZX 50.

OceanaGold shares are trading at $2.90, giving it a market capitalisation of $761.5 million.

The changes to the index will kick in on Monday September 19.
