OMD rings a change

Fri, 23 Apr 2010

OMD has announced a key change in its agency structure.

Director of digital Chris Riley has been promoted to the new role of managing director of the Auckland agency. The promotion has immediate effect. (See Mr Riley on the Ad Show discussing in-game marketing here.)

The promotion frees up CEO Kath Watson to spend more time in her extended role as CEO of OMD and Total Media across Auckland and Wellington.

The promotion sees Mr Riley joining the agency’s senior management team, which includes managing partners Andrew Reinholds and Rosanne Robinson.

The agency also appointed Brit import Steve Tindall as head of trading six months ago.

Mr Riley will also work closely with OMD Wellington’s managing director Nigel Keats.

Mr Riley has a track record in digital already, having led what became the biggest digital media team in the country in short time.

“Our focus as an agency providing our clients with the best insights, ideas and results has not changed,” Mr Riley said.

“This philosophy will continue to be the driving factor in continuing to ensure we can provide the best service to our clients.”
