Ad revenue lifts, with more growth expected later in the year.
Outdoor advertising revenue has increased 7.1% for the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.
The Outdoor Media Association recorded first quarter revenue of $14.6 million, an increase of $970,000.
Outdoor media operators anticipate more growth this year stemming from the Rugby World Cup.
OMANZ marketing and communications manager Jo Davenport said it was a great start to the year, especially coming off the back of a positive 2010.
“We’re definitely seeing out-of-home advertising go from strength to strength,” she said.
“The next few months are about really solidifying our upcoming strategy to ensure we can deliver more value, service and profile to agencies and advertisers alike, and the launch of the website has been the start of that.”
Recently formed OMANZ has recently launched its website at www.omanz.org.nz.
In February it was also announced that television advertising revenue is on the rise again, jumping 6.6% to exceed $600 million.
