Council election results have been announced for InternetNZ, the organisation that lobbies on behalf of users, and administers .nz interent addresses.

Lance Wiggs, Don Christie, and Dave Moskovitz were elected councillors.

Jonny Martin and Neil James were re-elected.

Judy Speight and Liz Butterfield failed to secure re-election.

The AGM also saw the appointment of two InternetNZ Fellows: tech commentator Colin Jackson, and one-time government CTO and open source advocate Lawrence Zwimpfer.

Meet the new councillers, a.k.a The Blokes From Wellington
Mr Wiggs is a Wellington entrepreneur and, among many other ventures, one of the co-founders of Pacific Fibre, the company teaming with Pacnet to build a second cable out of New Zealand.

Recently, Mr Wiggs has been a vocal on the controversial revision of New Zealand's copyright law, asserting that disconnection is an unreasonable penalty.

Mr Christie is the president of the New Zealand Open Source Society, and a co-founder and director of Wellington-based IT services and web development shop Catalyst.

US ex-pat Dave Moskovitz, also of Wellington, is an entrepreneur with a focus on early-stage investments.
