Kordia promotes new GM at Aura InfoSec
Kordia New Zealand has appointed Peter Bailey to the newly created role of general manager of Aura Information Security.
Kordia acquired Aura InfoSec in November last year and, with the company’s founder and former chief executive electing to pursue related interests, there became a need for a new leadership role.
Mr Bailey was formerly service delivery manager at Aura InfoSec, a role covering a wide range of customer service and project management activities. Following the acquisition by Kordia he was appointed to the Kordia executive committee.
In his new role he is working closely with Kordia CEO Scott Bartlett who has taken a hands-on position at Aura InfoSec.
South African-born, Mr Bailey graduated from Stellenbosch University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Psychology in 1999. He has worked in advertising and held a range of customer service and production roles at organisational risk consultancy Sysdoc.
In late 2010 Mr Bailey joined the Ministry of Justice as national operations training manager before joining Aura InfoSec in March 2013 in his previous role as service delivery manager.
Mr Bailey’s mandate is twofold; to maintain the company’s track record in high quality customer service delivery and to continue to grow Aura InfoSec in the burgeoning cyber-security industry.
“Without doubt there is growing awareness of the role cyber-security plays in many businesses but our point of difference is we take an holistic approach to working with our clients.
“It’s not just the technical services we provide but we also look after all aspects of information security – including accreditation, certification, design reviews and managing process and policy. We own the entire security process for our customers with no outsourcing delivering a gap-free single-sourced service.”
Kordia already has a growing footprint in cyber-security and the Aura acquisition catapults it to becoming New Zealand’s leading cyber-security business the company says.
