Horticulture NZ worried RMA reforms may make things worse
Orchardists and vegetable growers concerned a tax or auction system for natural resources such as water could be introduced under controversial planning rule changes.
Orchardists and vegetable growers want changes made to the legislation replacing the RMA.
Food growers warn that, without changes, New Zealand’s food security will be put at risk.
While growers welcome the legislation replacing the Resource Management Act, they say that the Planning Bill and Natural Environment Bill – as drafted – will not necessarily make any difference.
