PM hails breakthrough in economic relationship with India
But dairy industry remains a sticking point in negotiations for a free trade agreement.
New Zealand is hopeful of a free trade deal with India.
Ahead of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi this week the two countries have agreed to start free trade negotiations.
The announcement came after Trade Minister Todd McClay met with his Indian counterpart Piyush Goyal in New Delhi earlier today.
