US and Iran agree two-week ceasefire before escalation deadline

UPDATE: PM Christopher Luxon criticised US President Donald Trump’s threat earlier today that ‘a whole civilisation will die’ if Iran did not heed his demand about re-opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Donald Trump said the ceasefire was contingent on Iran opening the Strait of Hormuz.
