Consumers connected to Northpower’s electricity supply network are receiving a ‘line holiday’ of $5.3 million – effective immediately.
Chairman of Northpower, Warren Moyes, says the lines company will be giving consumers across the Whangarei and Kaipara districts credits of between $35 and $145.
Power accounts issued in March by electricity retailers operating on Northpower’s network will include credits with the description “Northpower Line Holiday” to notify consumers of the credit ‘holiday’.
The credits, based on energy consumption shown on individual power accounts over the past 12 months, will be distributed to all consumers that are connected to the Northpower network from midnight last Tuesday, 21 February.
Northpower’s ‘line holiday’ will calculate the credit allocated to each consumer the following way:
Network consumers who used between 2,000 and 15,000 units over the past year will receive a $95 credit, sitting between consumers who used less that 2,000 units who will receive $35 and the larger consumers who used an excess of 15,000 units receiving $145.
A $700,000 industry rebate is also included in the $5.3 million in credits for consumers.
Mr Moyes says Northpower is pleased to continue returning credits to the consumers who are in fact the owners of the Northpower network.
“The real benefit of consumer ownership is Northpower’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, reliable electricity supply to consumers in the Whangarei and Kaipara districts.”
