Justice Minister Simon Power today announced the 14 members of the new Legal Aid Tribunal, which will replace the Legal Aid Review Panel on July 1.
Its establishment is part of the changes to the legal aid system enacted by Parliament, and all its members have to be lawyers.
The chairman of the tribunal is David Plunkett, previously deputy chairman of the Immigration and Protection Tribunal, chairman of the Residence Review Board, the Removal Review Authority and the Deportation Review Authority.
