Private Bin likes cheese (nom nom nom).
While we were a little disappointed we weren’t invited to judge in the World Championship Cheese Contest hosted in Wisconsin, USA, this week, we were very happy a little cheese factory from Putaruru received some accolades.
Over The Moon Dairy Company, won two categories – flavoured soft and semisoft sheep’s milk cheeses and also soft and semisoft sheep’s milk cheeses.
While the efforts of this little company overseas have been noted, Private Bin reckons they don’t know that the company’s founder Sue Arthur was also responsible for driving the creation of Tirau’s big corrugated iron dog information centre.
Ms Arthur is a former “big cheese” in the South Waikato District Council before she moved on from civic duties and delved into the culinary world.
