Businesswoman Roseanne Meo is the Real Estate Institute’s newest chairwoman in a restructure of its board.
The organisation appointed Ms Meo chairwoman and signed on two new independent board members, Harcourts head of real estate operations for Australasia Bryan Thomson and professional company director Dr Richard Janes.
Ms Meo has been a director and chairwoman of many private and public companies, community organisations and state owned enterprises during the last 20 years.
She is also chairwoman of Briscoes Group, AMP NZ Services and Auckland Philharmonia; and a trustee of the South Auckland Heart Foundation and Keliher Trust.
Wellington-based Dr Richard Janes is chairman of the Electricity & Gas Complaints Commission and NZ Lotteries Commission.
There were two real estate industry professionals also appointed to the board. Bryan Thompson was the chief executive of Harcourts for eight years. Livingstone Realty managing director and Real Estate Network chair David Rankin.
The board also has five regional directors, eith Jean Smith for Auckland, Euon Murrell from Wellington, Paul Hedwig for Nelson, Liz Nidd for Dunedin and Philip Searle for Gisborne.
