Digital economy company Renaissance Corporation, which distributes Apple products, has appointed Richard Webb chief executive.
Born in the United States, Mr Webb was a licensed professional engineer with a major in mechanical engineering and thermodynamics, Renaissance said today.
He completed an MBA in finance and marketing at Syracuse University in New York, and led and founded a number of global technology companies in the enterprise software, application service provision, marketing research, and interactive media industries.
Most recently, Mr Webb was chairman and founder of Red Ocean, an Australia-based incubator of interactive media start-ups.
During his career, he had held more than 75 company board directorships in 21 countries.
He was founding chief executive of publicly listed global interactive communication group, BlueFreeway until 2008 where the company grew to 25 companies and 540 staff servicing 1500 publishers and advertisers through direct sales offices in 25 cities and 19 countries.
Until 2006, Mr Webb was chief executive of Citect, the world's largest publicly listed industrial automation software company, Renaissance said.
He was a dual Australian/US citizen who would this month relocate to Auckland from Sydney.
