This is a supplied media release.

Cloud services provider Revera has appointed Dr Will Reedy to lead the company’s newly-formed digital health practice.

Dr Reedy has a long involvement in health, both as a practicing doctor and digital health consultant.

As chairman of the Ministry of Health National Electronic Health Record Advisory Committee, he has led health and life sciences practices at consultancies Accenture, HP, and Cap Gemini.

Before returning to New Zealand in 2015, he led digital health transformation programmes for large healthcare providers in North America, the UK, and Australia.

Dr Reedy’s appointment has been made as Revera undertakes new projects to migrate legacy computing infrastructure used by DHBs, the Ministry of Health, and private providers to Revera’s Homeland IaaS Cloud.

The Ministry of Health, Homecare Medical, Waikato DHB, Nelson Marlborough Health, and Western Bay of Plenty PHO are the latest providers on a growing list of Revera healthcare clients shifting to the Revera’s cloud.

Revera’s digital health practice is part of its commitment to digitise patient care for consumers and providers using cloud computing and partner technology. More than simply infrastructure modernisation, the cloud provider is focused on building a digital health ecosystem to help transform the delivery of health care across New Zealand.

“The rise of digital technology and customer expectations of personalisation and immediacy are changing the dynamics between patients and carers, providing an opportunity to empower patients to manage their health,” said Dr Reedy. “Much of the digital technology to fulfil these expectations is here today, but delivering smart solutions requires expert hands and solid partnerships with healthcare providers.”

Jason Perry and Colin Tarrant have also been appointed to the team: Mr Perry as digital health programme manager, moving from the Northern Regional Alliance, where he was a technology programme manager; and Mr Tarrant as digital health solution architect, joining Revera from NZ Health Partnerships, where he held the position of IT solutions architect.
