There's a good lineup of judges, mentors and speakers for the Auckland Startup Weekend kicking off today at 6.30pm, including Vend boss Vaughan Rowsell noted intellectual property specialist Rick Shera, and Spark Digital Ventures head Rod Snodgrass (Digital Ventures being the Spark division behind new projects like Lightbox, and recent Spark investments like the $5 million it put into Sir Ray Avery's Vigil home monitoring startup).
Tickets are cheap, as these things go, at $75 to $99, so it's worth a look if you've a budding entrepreneur — whether you're into its formal team competition and pitching elements, or just want the opportunity to schmooze the likes of Rowsell and Snodgrass.
